Last night I witnessed something that I’ve never seen felt before. I’ve seen Jimmy Cliff make the song cry time and time again, but at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction the Legend was close to tears as he invoked his Grandma and the family that made him the man, the creative genius, that he is. His place in our culture is far greater than just music; ‘The Harder They Come’ propelled him to be an ambassador for our entire heritage. Don’t get it twisted, none of this is by chance or luck, it us the character that comes with Cliff that conquers all. So much is this man filled with that other countries have adopted him and made him their own. He didnt forget to call on those who helped him along his journey, Desmond Dekker, Chris Blackwell and more.
Go on Jimmy, We are Proud of you! If Half your strength would be given to us we would be good!

Singer, producer Richie Loops has been churning out some pretty sharp rhythms for Scikron Entertainment/Big Yard in recent months. From ‘Maad a Road’ to the ‘Brainstorm’ rhythms, Loops has shown that he has the potential to be – if he is not already – among the very best producers in Jamaica today.
My Cup is a party song. It has the swagger. It has an infectious beat that gives it immediate international crossover appeal and lyrics simple enough to make them memorable.
“The concept is simple still; it’s about having a party. You know some people when they go to a party or club, they have their nice cup of juice, and nobody knows what’s in there. Everybody wants to know what you drinking, if it’s Hennessy you drinking, if it’s Red Bull and Guinness you drinking. Well, if it’s my cup, nobody has to know what I am drinking,” Loops says.
The song, he says, has an international flavour, so he is hopeful that it will take off in the international market.
This video is hot hot hot off the press. It was to premiere at 11:30 last night but the vevo team gave fans a surprise when the video was posted earlier than that to their Youtube page.
There’s some Tarantino in it, with ‘the pussy wagon’ and the diner scene from Pulp Fiction. There’s Disney with the witch from Snow White. And there’s Minaj Mattel too, I mean dont you think Bey seems very Barbie, bitch?
What other pop culture references are there?? ?

PURRREEE HEART ooh oooh ooh ooooh!!!! I dont want this song to end. The Black Keys kill this shit, this is music I can listen to any day of the week!!!

Did you see the Documentary award on the Oscars, Sunday? A film producer, Elinor Burkett, ran up on her former co-worker and director of the documentary, Roger Williams, and took over the acceptance speech. Apparantly, she used to be a part of the production but Williams shut her out before they had finished. Here’s more about it:
This video was posted on a dancehall forum in response to a fewKartel haters. Some people really take the ‘fan’ thing too far and end up being more of a groupie, so far are they for one side that they would wish death on the other. Everyone who follows any type of music where clashes or battles are involved has seen or knows a fan like this. Come dead wid laugh afta dem:
