Dancehall artiste Mavado and his manager Julian Grifitth-Jones have reportedly extended the olive branch to rival artist Vybz Kartel to attend Mavado’s birthday Party on December 5 to publicly squash the ongoing beef.
At first this seems like a move to be praised by anyone who would really like to see an end to the Gaza/Gully feud, but as far as I can see this was a fukkry move by the Gully Gad to further blight the Gaza Emperor because it was damn near 100% that the invitation would be turned down, therefore giving the idea that Kartel is against a positive link up.
Why would Kartel go to YOUR birthday party with YOUR fans to make peace? Wouldn’t it be more fair and more real (not just a PR stunt) if this reconciliation were to take place on neutral ground ? What happens when Vado’s fans aren’t feeling Kartel on the Gully stage and decide to ‘bokkle’ it?
Also, its public knowledge that Kartel has long been slated for Usain Bolt’s party being held on that same night. Partying that evening will be split down the middle with Kartel’s fans at one event and Mavado’s at another. Did ‘Vado’s team really expect Kartel to turn his back on his own fans, the fastest man on earth and his fans?
Mavado dem probably saw all this already though; Sting is around the corner and tings haffi gwaan for that
Lets see what happens……..

Big Time publicity stunt. How can Mavado and the entire Gully Squad release a war riddim aimed squarely at Kartel and Gaza one week, then invite him to a party the next week? Kartel already address the “invitation” in a new diss track. I guess this is just Mavado’s team’s way of trying to keep his name out there since Gaza stories have been dominating the media as of late. Just building more hype for the clash…
