“Mr Magic” passes away

Posted by **Admin** On October - 13 - 2009

Many of us will know Mr Magic only from Notorious BIG’s salute in “Juicy” (1994):

“It was all a dream/I used to read Word Up magazine
Salt’n'Pepa/ Heavy D up in the limousine
Hangin’ pictures on my wall/
Every Saturday ‘Rap Attack’, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl”

Those in NYC in the first half of the 1980’s will remember that Mr Magic’s radio show (featuring Marly Marl and Fly Ty)- Rap Attack- was the first hip hop only show ever to air on a major New York station.

Rap Attack aired for 6 years. On October 2, Mr Magic passed away from a heart attack.
