Did Drake Diss Tupac in song “Fear”?

Drake’s song “Fear” has been sparking some conversation because of a line that is taken to be disrespectful to one of the greatest rappers of the 90’s, Tupac. At the beginning of the second verse he says
“I neva cried when ‘Pac died, but I probably will when Hov’ does
and if my tears hold value then I will drop one for every single thing he showed us”
Now, as some will see it as a diss I see Drake’s stance; in 1996 when 2Pac passed away, Drake was 10 years old in Canada & not yet a rapper. Then, the world of hip hop didn’t matter to him that much, now it does- he’s on top of it! He burst onto the hip hop scene at the beginning of 2006 with the mixtape Room For Improvement, even though many people know him as ‘Jimmy Brooks’ a character on TV Show Degrassi as early as 2001.
Now he’s signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money record Label and on the path to being the next big rap legend and no other legend made it by always saying shit people liked.
Watch Lil Wayne as he hears that Drake wasn’t number 1 on MTV’s Top Hip Hop Artist list (and that Eminem wasn’t even on the list while Gucci Mane was!!!) at 5:12
